1. Jordan: Arabian Adventure
From Ajloun’s nature reserve and the well-preserved Roman city of Jerash - with its impressive temples and amphitheatre - we continue south to the Dead Sea, the earth’s lowest point! Our route leads on to the famed lost city of Petra then heads deep into Wadi Rum’s desert wilderness, beloved of Lawrence of Arabia, where we ride camels and stargaze from a Bedouin-style camp before ending with some R&R on the Red Sea, snorkelling on the colourful coral reef.
2. Finland: Northern Lights Adventure
Enjoy an exciting outdoor adventure in Hossa National Park amidst a winter wonderland of snowy forests and frozen lakes, where we can learn winter survival skills such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog-sledding, ice-fishing, fire-making and igloo-building, with a chance to relax in a traditional sauna each evening and - if we’re lucky - see the Aurora Borealis.
3. Active Borneo
This new trip explores Borneo’s jungles, rivers and tropical seas. At Sepilok we see orangutans and sun bears then continue up the Kinabatangan River, where boat trips, nature treks and night walks reveal pygmy elephant, orangutan, proboscis monkey and exotic birds. On the western side of the island we snorkel to learn about coral reef conservation, cycle through the countryside around Mount Kinabalu, learn survival techniques on a jungle trek, and enjoy ziplining and river rafting.
4. Greece: Discover Crete
Justifiably famed for its sandy beaches, spectacular sunsets and delicious food, the Mediterranean island of Crete - Greece’s largest - is a great destination for a family trip. This centre-based holiday near Chania offers a varied menu: a boat trip, swimming and snorkelling, exploring underwater, sea caves and even a shipwreck. There’s gorge walking, sea kayaking and paddleboarding, plus free time for optional activities such as scuba diving, mountain biking, hiking or visiting an archaeological dig.
5. Alpine Slovenia
Based in a cosy guesthouse beside picturesque Lake Bled you explore pristine alpine meadows, lakes, forests and mountains through a variety of outdoor activities: a sightseeing tour of Triglav National Park, ziplining, white-water rafting, canyoning, rock climbing and mountain walking along the Austrian border. If time, we could even try summer tobogganing, cycling, paddleboarding, canoeing and extreme mini-golf!
6. Croatia River Adventure
From two bases in lovely historic Karlovac and the village of Rakovica, famed for its hospitality, we explore the unspoilt Croatian countryside on foot and by bike, kayak and speedboat. Our focus is primarily the rivers - the country's cleanest - which in summer are blessed with numerous waterfalls and warm water pools just perfect for a refreshing dip. We see the natural beauty at Plitvice Lakes National Park, the Korana Canyon and the caves of Barac.
7. Egypt: Pharaohs, Feluccas & Pyramids
On this adventure we learn about Ancient Egypt with visits to the Pyramids of Giza, Cairo’s famed Egyptian Museum, and Alexandria with an Egyptologist guide. Further south, we visit the Valley of the Kings opposite Luxor to see Pharaohs’ Tombs, and sail on a felucca through beautiful Nile scenery around Aswan. We mix with local people, haggle at a local market and visit a Nubian village before ending in Hurghada, where we relax on sandy beaches and snorkel in the Red Sea.
8. Discover South Africa
Drive the legendary Garden Route from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town to enjoy beautiful beaches, see wildlife and explore the Karoo along the way. Starting from Addo Elephant National Park - one of the best places in the world to see elephants - you pass through Tsitsikamma National Park’s native forests en route to the golden beaches of Plettenberg Bay and spectacular views of the Indian Ocean at De Hoop Nature Reserve. Highlights include whale watching in Hermanus, before a Cape Town tour and a cable-car ride up Table Mountain.
9. Discover Cambodia
Firstly in Phnom Penh you enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong, and continue by road to Battambang and the famous bamboo train, which local people still use to get around. Our trip ends in Siem Reap where we cycle around Angkor Wat’s temple complex with its surrounding jungle and moat, enjoy the Phare Circus relating Cambodia’s history through dance and acrobatics, take a boat trip to the floating villages of Tonle Sap and visit a local family to learn how to prepare a traditional Khmer breakfast.
10. Southern Iceland Adventure
Self-drive the classic 'Golden Circle' route, before heading to the south coast where highlights include activities such as glacier trekking, coastal kayaking, exploring a lava tunnel and an exciting whale watching trip. You’ll see geysers erupting and thundering rivers, and bathe in the geothermal waters of a secret lagoon. You visit 'diamond' beaches, see imposing volcanoes, walk behind roaring waterfalls and beneath volcanic cliffs, and see lakes filled with icebergs.
