Responsible Tourism
Learning about other cultures and different environments really brings home how important it is to preserve our world.
The directors and staff of Families Worldwide believe in travelling in a responsible and sustainable manner. Travel can bring many benefits to both traveller and the country being visited - such as learning about others ways of life and contributing to the local economy. Sometimes however, the impact can be negative so it's important to understand the potential disbenefits and then to take a few simple steps to minimize any negative effects.
With Families Worldwide, you'll have the chance to participate in projects involving indigenous cultures or in support of animal and plant life so that you can help to protect or restore the environment. By joining our 'Jungle Book' tour in central India, you will be helping to support Project Tiger. Holiday in Zambia and you will be helping us to support yosefe school, as Families worldwide donates £100 per booking to the 'First Sparks' project.
Our responsible travel policy:
- Minimise our impact on the environment and indigenous cultures
- Ensure that staff throughout our entire supply chain are treated fairly and paid a fair wage
- Encourage staff and clients to learn about and respect the customs and culture of the country visited
Customers can all make a positive step towards reducing their carbon footprint with each of our trips, by paying a contribution to Climate Care (www.climatecare.org). Climate Care is a company which is able to offset the carbon created by your air journey by investing your money into very tangible, worthwhile global projects, some of which will also significantly improve the lives of local people.
Families Worldwide is part of the Worldwide Group of companies, whose responsible tourism and all the companies within the Worldwide Group, adhere to a common Responsible Tourism policy (Click for pdf download).
