Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Marrakech
Arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport and meet at the group hotel. Relax or explore the surrounding area of Old Marrakech.

Day 2: Marrakech, explore bazaars
Take a tour by horse-drawn carriage and explore this vibrant old city – see palaces, souks and the beautifully preserved Ben Youssef Koranic school. The afternoon is at your leisure – carry on shopping and souvenir hunting, experience a traditional hammam, visit the Saadien Tombs or head back to your hotel to relax.

Day 3: Atlas Mountains, ride/walk to Aremd
Head into the tranquil villages of the Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch at Imlil before joining mules and walking (or riding) to your base in the village of Aremd, set below Mount Toubkal. In the afternoon there will be time to explore the village and see how the locals live.

Day 4: Walk to Sidi Chamarouch and back to Aremd
Hike to the Shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. Leaving Aremd travel east, crossing the flood plain. The route follows well-worn mule tracks up into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. After a picnic lunch return to Aremd for a well-deserved rest.

Day 5: Walk to Tacheddirt with Mule Support
Descend back towards Imlil and pass below the village of Tagadirt, joining a track which takes you into the Imenane Valley. After arriving at the col of Tizi-n-Tamatert, enjoy magnificent views of the upper Imanane valley and the mountains of Oukaimeden, Angour and Iguenouane. Your final destination is the village of Tacheddirt, the highest in the valley, with spectacular views of the surrounding hills.

Day 6: Explore Tacheddirt, easy walks with mule support
Explore the authentic Berber village of Tacheddirt, with its terraced irrigated fields, chickens and goats running around, and see how the locals live. It may also be possible to visit a local school.

Day 7: Return to Marrakech
After breakfast say goodbye to your Berber hosts, you are driven 2.5 hours back to your hotel in Marrakech.
The afternoon is free at leisure, there will be time for some final souvenir shopping, and another look at the activities in the Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

Day 8: Fly to UK
Depart your hotel for the airport and fly back to the UK.
