Inle Lake

An intriguing place, 22 kilometre long Inle Lake is inhabited by the Intha people famed for their unconventional, leg-rowing.

There are floating vegetable gardens dotting the surface of the lake and colourful markets along the shores. Silk and craft shops rise out of the lake on stilts. The area is home to a wide range of bird species and there are some good trekking opportunities.
