Accommodated in a fabulous wildlife lodge deep in South Luangwa National Park, elephants, hippos and giraffes are frequently seen within close proximity to your fabulous lodge and there are also good chances to encounter leopards and other predators, as well as an enormous array of birds and nocturnal mammals on exciting night drives.
Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Fly overnight to Lusaka.

Day 2: Arrive in Zambia
Arrive in Lusaka and take a short flight to Mfuwe. There, you will be met and transferred by road to your accommodation in South Luangwa National Park. -
Days 3-6 : Game drive safaris
Typically, the daily routine starts with an early wake-up call for hot drinks and a light breakfast, before heading into the park with your guide on an early morning game drive.
You head back to your accommodation mid-morning in time for a late breakfast or a brunch/lunch meal, before relaxing in the heat of the day and enjoying the pool or perhaps taking a siesta after your early start.
Afternoon tea is served at 3.30pm, before heading out again with your guide at 4pm for more of an exploration of the wilderness. As the sun sets, a sundowner is enjoyed before continuing your game drive using a spotlight to search for some nocturnal residents, before returning to your accommodation for dinner.

Day 7: Return flight home
Transfer by road to Mfuwe in time for your flight to Lusaka, and then transit to your international homeward flight. -
Day 8: Welcome home!

Days 7-12 : OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS
There are plenty of options for extending this itinerary and exploring more of the country, and also the wider region. You can continue your safari experience by travelling to the Lower Zambezi National Park for a few days. Alternatively, your family could fly to Livingstone and visit the Victoria Falls - providing a spectacular finale to a classic Zambian adventure!
However, if you've made it as far as Livingstone, then it's a very straight forward journey to cross the border into Botswana and stay in Kasane for a few extra nights - the gateway to a bounty of wildlife in Chobe National Park and some wonderful river safaris on the Zambezi!
