A family of snow-loving explorers will love the dramatic winter landscapes of Montenegro. A holiday to this emerging destination is ideal for families who want to get off-the-beaten-track amongst mountains, canyons, lakes and snow-covered villages.
The trip starts with an overnight stay in the capital of Podgorica, then we take the scenic route through Moraca and Lipovo to the ski resort of Kolašin for some skiing, snowshoeing and winter hiking in a mountainous national park. Next we go to Žabljak another of Montenegro's premier winter activity centres, here we enjoy snow games and activities and a beautiful snowshoe hike around the frozen Black Lake, before ending the trip back in Podgorica for a well-earned afternoon of souvenir shopping.
This itinerary strikes a balance between adventure, culture and relaxation. Furthermore, whether we're enjoying the ski slopes of Kolašin, the ancient towers and monasteries or marvelling at the amazing natural beauty of the mountainous national parks we can rest assured in the knowledge of returning to warm, welcoming and friendly Montenegrin hospitality.

Day 1: Fly to Tirana & transfer to Podgorica
Transfer to Podgorica, afternoon at leisure & evening welcome dinner. -
Day 2: Transfer to Kolašin via Moraca River Canyon, Moraca Monastery & Lipovo village
Enjoy a scenic transfer through the Moraca River Canyon to the medieval monastery to admire the views and impressive artwork, stop in the rural village of Lipovo to taste locally-made produce before arriving in Kolašin. -
Day 3: Morning ski lesson at Skijaliste 1600 & nighttime snowshoe hike by torchlight
Enjoy a 2-hour ski lesson at one of Montenegro’s premier ski resorts in the morning, with time for ski practice on the slopes. In the evening, enjoy an hour-long snowshoe hike lit by flaming torches. -
Day 4: Day trip in the Prokletije National Park
Enjoy a day in the Prokletije National Park visiting the Redzepagica tower, Ali Pasha Springs and a winter hike through the Grebaje Valley. -
Day 5: Transfer to Žabljak via the Djurdjevica Bridge; afternoon snow games & activities
Transfer to Zabljak with a stop at the impressive Djurdevica Bridge and in the afternoon enjoy snow games and activities in the ski resort of Žabljak including snow tubing and igloo building. -
Day 6: Snowshoeing around the Black Lake
Enjoy a scenic snowshoe hike around the frozen Black Lake followed by lunch at a local restaurant. -
Day 7: Transfer to Podgorica
Drive back to Podgorica this morning and enjoy an afternoon at leisure for sightseeing and shopping. -
Day 8: Transfer to Tirana & Fly to UK
Transfer to Tirana airport for your flight home.
