After exploring the cobbled streets and old buildings of Bergen, travel past mountains and gorges through the heart of the fjord region, famous for its traditional way of life and beautiful scenery. Enjoy a Viking dinner, RIB safari and snowshoe across the spectacular landscape. Visit a local family for a home-cooked Norwegian dinner and visit a Viking village before ending your family adventure with some skiing and snow racing in the mountains.
Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bergen
Your accommodation is located in the centre of Bergen, close to the city's restaurants and attractions. Take the funicular to the top of Floyen Mountain for spectacular views of the city and surrounding landscape.
If you are visiting in December, you may like to continue your exploration of the city with a visit to the Christmas markets and the world’s largest gingerbread village.
Outside of December, Bergen has plenty to see and do including the aquarium, Hanseatic Museum, climbing park and Troll Forest.

Day 2: Scenic Flam railway through the fjords
Take the scenic Flam railway through the heart of the fjords, passing rivers, gorges and magnificent snow-covered mountainsides. This evening, enjoy dinner at a Viking-themed restaurant.

Day 3: Cross-country skiing or snowshoeing
Choose between cross-country skis or snowshoes for your guided journey through the landscape that inspired the film Frozen. This evening you will visit your guide’s home to prepare and eat a traditional Norwegian meal.

Day 4: RIB safari & Stegastein Viewpoint
Take a safari through the spectacular fjords in a RIB, before vsiting the famous Stegastein viewpoint. This afternoon you can visit an art studio and make your own glass ornament to take home.

Day 5: Fjord cruise & Viking village
This morning, go on a cruise of the Naeroy Fjord, a wild and beautiful fjord surrounded by dramatic waterfalls and steep mountains.
Later, visit an interactive Viking village where you can learn about how the Vikings worked and lived, and enjoy lunch served in the Viking house.
This afternoon, transfer to the mountain resort of Myrkdalen where you can enjoy snow-racing and ride in a horse drawn sleigh.

Day 6: Free day in the mountains
Today is left free to spend some time enjoying optional activities in the mountains. Ski lessons can be organised, and a selection of local activities are available (cross country skiing, kids club, wind tunnel, swimming and snowshoeing), depending on the day of the week.
This evening transfer back to Bergen ready for your return flight the following morning.

Day 7: Fly back to the UK
Transfer back to Bergen airport for your flight back to the UK.
