These neighbouring countries couldn't be more different, in both their history, culture and food, and we're sure that no one will be left disappointed after exploring the tunnels of the Vietcong, seeing the beauty of the fertile Mekong Delta in Vietnam and channelling their inner Lara Croft in search of and exploring ancient Cambodian temples.
Our adventure starts in the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), which is synonymous with the end of the Vietnam War in the 1960s and 1970s. Here we see some of the important sites in the city and visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, dug by the Vietcong army, before we start our exploration of the Mekong Delta by land and boat as we explore the myriad of canals and channels. We visit local villages, floating markets and bird sanctuaries before sitting at the top of the holy mountain to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets over the Delta with our next country visible in the distance.
Next, we take an express speedboat down the Mekong River into Cambodia and dock in the capital city, Phnom Penh, where we visit the city's majestic royal palaces and visit an arts academy that inspires young people to learn the traditional dances and music of the Khmer people. We then take a flight to Siem Reap, where we hike through the jungles of a sacred mountain in search of giant statues and hidden religious icons, visit a butterfly conservation centre full of thousands of beautiful and colourful butterflies. Then to complete our adventure, we explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the jaw dropping Angkor Temple complex, and end the trip watching the sunset behind the legendary Angkor Wat.

Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Arrive Ho Chi Minh City
On arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, meet our guide and transfer to our hotel in the city. -
Day 3: Cu Chi Tunnels & Ho Chi Minh City Tour
Explore the famous Cu Chi tunnels of the Viet Cong Army, followed by a tour of the historical sights of Ho Chi Minh City. -
Day 4: Journey into the Mekong Delta & Visit Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary
Discover some of the village industries of the Mekong Delta and see the birds of the Delta at the Bang Long Stork Sanctuary. -
Day 5: Visit a Floating Market & Watch the Sunset over the Mekong Delta
This morning, visit the Cai Rang floating market and this evening watch the sunset over the Mekong Delta from the top of the holy Sam Mountain. -
Day 6: Express boat down the Mekong to Phnom Penh
Take the express speed boat up the Mekong to Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh. -
Day 7: Phnom Penh City Tour
Visit palaces, temples, and museums on a day tour around Phnom Penh, discovering the city’s vibrant history. Later, visit a traditional silk village to witness age-old weaving techniques. -
Day 8: Fly to Siem Reap & Evening food tour
Discover traditional arts at Champey Academy, before catching an early afternoon flight to Siem Reap. In the evening, enjoy a delicious tour of Siem Reap's nightlife and street food vendours. -
Day 9: Phnom Kulen & Banteay Srei Butterfly Centre
Explore the jungle-covered Phnom Kulen to look for hidden temples, ancient ruins and waterfalls, and visit the Banteay Srei butterfly centre full of native species. -
Day 10: Day at Leisure
Free day at leisure in Siem Reap. -
Day 11: Full Day exploring Angkor Temples
Discover the stunning ancient temples of the Angkor complex, with the sunsetting behind Angkor Wat. -
