Day 1: Depart UK
Depart London on an overnight flight to Kochi (Cochin). -
Day 2: Arrive in Kochi
On arrival in Kochi, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or begin exploring Kochi. Many of the city's highlights are within easy reach, including the iconic Chinese fishing nets, colourful spice markets, bustling cafés and charming colonial streets. -
Day 3: Tour of Kochi & Transfer to Dewalokam
Begin the day with a tour of historic Kochi before travelling inland to the peaceful surroundings of Dewalokam. On arrival, settle into your family-run homestay and enjoy a selection of optional activities, including a farm walk and Keralan cooking demonstration. -
Day 4: Day in Dewalokam
Wake to the peaceful surroundings of Dewalokam and spend the day relaxing by the river or exploring the local area. You may also choose from a selection of optional activities, including a morning yoga session or a guided village walk, cycle ride and temple visit. -
Day 5: Travel to Thekkady
Journey through the beautiful Western Ghats, passing forests, tea estates and fragrant spice plantations en route to Thekkady, gateway to the renowned Periyar Tiger Reserve. On arrival, enjoy an included guided spice plantation tour, or choose to attend an optional Kalarippayattu martial arts performance this evening. -
Day 6: Explore Periyar Tiger Reserve or Wildlife Boat Cruise
Discover the wildlife of Periyar Tiger Reserve on an included guided jungle walk and bamboo rafting adventure. Alternatively, choose an optional wildlife boat cruise for a peaceful journey across Periyar Lake in search of elephants, deer and colourful birdlife. -
Day 7: Travel to Kumarakom
Travel through Kerala's lush countryside to the tranquil backwaters of Kumarakom. Check in to your lakeside resort overlooking Vembanad Lake, and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool, exploring the gardens or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. -
Day 8: Kumarakom River Cruise & Transfer to Marari
Enjoy a cruise through Kerala's famous backwaters, gliding along peaceful palm-fringed waterways aboard a traditional houseboat while a delicious Keralan lunch is served on board. Later, continue to the coastal village of Marari, and spend the rest of the day relaxing at your beachfront resort. -
Day 9: Relax in Marari & Transfer to Kochi
Spend the day relaxing on Marari Beach, enjoying the pool or exploring the nearby fishing village. Later this afternoon, transfer to a hotel near Kochi Airport, ready for your flight home the following morning. -
Day 10: Fly to UK
Transfer to the airport and fly back to the UK. -
Days 9-12 : Optional Extension: Ranthambore Tiger Safari
Swap Kerala's tranquil backwaters for the wild landscapes of Rajasthan, with a 3–4 night extension to Ranthambore National Park. Enjoy exciting jeep safaris in search of Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears and a wealth of birdlife, while staying in comfortable family-friendly lodges or heritage-style hotels.
