Begin your holiday in Quito, a modern city with traditional culture, nestled in the Andes. After exploring the city and visiting the Equator, travel to the Galápagos where you board your ship for a 4-night cruise, visiting five of the islands in this volcanic archipelago.

Young wildlife enthusiasts can learn about biodiversity and encounter a variety of animal, bird and marine life as you explore the impressive coastline, beaches and lagoons of this unique region.

Finish your trip with a short stop in the city of Guayaquil to learn about the history, culture and traditions of the city as well as the opportunities to spot monkeys, sloths and macaws in Guayaquil’s historic park.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart UK and arrive Quito

    On arrival in Quito, transfer to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

  2. Day 2: Quito city tour

    Join a guided walking tour of Quito to see the city’s highlights and visit the Equatorial Monument, where you can stand with one foot on each hemisphere. 

  3. Day 3: Fly to the Galapagos Island & start cruise

    Transfer to the airport and fly to Baltra Island in the Galapagos where you're met by the guide and then board your vessel where you sail to the north shore of Santa Cruz to begin your first exploration of the islands.

  4. Day 4: Isabela Island

    Snorkel straight from the white sand beach of Las Bachas, looking for marine wildlife in the shallow waters and tidal pools before sailing through the central part of the Galápagos to Isabela Island, home to some 6,000 tortoises.

    Visit Darwin’s Lake and jump in the water again for more snorkelling, this time with a chance to come up close with a penguin colony and watch marine iguanas feeding underwater.

  5. Day 5: Santiago Island

    Take a morning walk on the youngest island in the archipelago to see iguana burrows, sea lion colonies and flightless cormorant nests. Then journey along the coast by dinghy before exploring two underwater caves.

  6. Day 6: North Seymour

    Walk the shoreline of Puerto Egas, also known as James Bay, looking for birds and reptiles, where you can find iguanas basking on the rocks and Sally Lightfoot crabs everywhere! Further snorkelling time is available to look for rays, turtles and reef sharks.

  7. Day 7: Fly to Guayaquil

    Spend your last morning watching frigatebirds frolic in the skies and blue-footed boobies perform their courtship dance before a last dip in the Galápagos Islands' waters to snorkel among curious and playful sea lions before your flight back to Ecuador mainland.

  8. Day 8: Guayaquil city tour and return to UK

    Spend the morning learning about the city’s history, culture and traditions with the opportunity to spot wildlife such as monkeys, sloths and macaws in Guayaquil’s historic park.

    Return to the UK on an overnight flight home.

  9. Day 9: Arrive UK
