Begin your holiday in Quito, a modern city with traditional culture, nestled in the Andes. After exploring the city and visiting the Equator, travel to the Galápagos where you board your ship for a 4-night cruise, visiting several of the islands in this volcanic archipelago.
Young wildlife enthusiasts can learn about biodiversity and encounter a variety of animal, bird and marine life as you explore the impressive coastline, beaches and lagoons of this unique region.
Finish your trip with a short stop in the city of Guayaquil to learn about the history, culture and traditions of the city as well as the opportunities to spot monkeys, sloths and macaws in Guayaquil’s historic park.

Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Depart UK & Arrive Quito
On arrival in Quito, transfer to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Quito City Tour
Join a guided walking tour of Quito to see the city’s highlights and visit the Equatorial Monument, where you can stand with one foot on each hemisphere.
You can also choose to visit a tea shop and take part in tasting native Andean herbs and botanical flavours, visit Yumbos Chocolate to learn about the chocolate-making process from bean to bar, ride the cable-car or watch a vibrant Andean ballet performance.

Day 3: Fly to the Galapagos Island & Start Cruise
Transfer to the airport and fly to Baltra Island in the Galapagos where you're met by the guide and then board your vessel where you sail to the north shore of Santa Cruz to begin your first exploration of the islands.

Day 4: Isabela Island
Snorkel straight from the white sand beach of Las Bachas, looking for marine wildlife in the shallow waters and tidal pools before sailing through the central part of the Galápagos to Isabela Island, home to some 6,000 tortoises.
Visit Darwin’s Lake and jump in the water again for more snorkelling, this time with an opportunity to come up close with a Galapagos penguin colony and watch marine iguanas feeding underwater.

Day 5: Santiago Island
Continuing to Santiago Island, stopping on route at Espinoza Point, Fernandina Island and Vicente Roca Point in the North of Isabela. Take a morning walk and enter a dark sea cave, with some opportunity for snorkelling.

Day 6: Rabida Island
On your return towards Santa Cruz Island, visit Rabida Island, famous for its striking red volcanic landscape. Take a short trail from the beach to the coastal lagoon, where you may spot finches, mockingbirds, yellow warblers and flamingos against the island’s dramatic backdrop.

Day 7: Fly to Guayaquil
Spend your last morning on a short boat trip around the emerald lagoons and shallow bays of Black Turtle Cove, keeping watch for sea turtles, groups of sharks and numerous bird species that inhabit the mangroves here. Then return to Baltra for your onward flight.

Day 8: Guayaquil City Tour & Return to UK
Spend the morning learning about the city’s history, culture and traditions with the chance to spot wildlife such as monkeys, sloths and macaws in Guayaquil’s historic park.
Return to the UK on an overnight flight home.

This advice does not apply to airside transit within Guayaquil Airport.
