Begin your holiday in Cairo where your Egyptologist guide will show you the wonders of the Pyramids of Giza. Learn about ancient Egypt at the Egyptian Museum and visit the city of Alexandria.
Travel further south to visit the tombs of the Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings and sail on a felucca through the beautiful Aswan scenery. You’ll have the chance to interact with the locals, haggle at a local market and visit a Nubian village before ending your trip in Hurghada where you can relax on the golden sandy beaches and swim and snorkel in the Red Sea.

Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Cairo
On arrival in Cairo, your guide will assist you with your transfer to your hotel.
A city of contrasts, Cairo is home to ancient monuments alongside a modern city-scape; expect a lively, chaotic atmosphere as you arrive in the largest city of the Arab World.

Day 2: Pyramids & the Egyptian Museum
Start your day with a visit to the three Pyramids. Marvel at the magnificent Sphinx carved out of a single piece of stone, watching over the Giza plateau.
This afternoon, visit the world-famous Egyptian Museum covering 5,000 years of ancient civilization including Tutankhamen’s treasures.

Day 3: Day trip to Alexandria
Today, travel north to the city of Alexandria on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. The city is believed to have been founded by and named after Alexander the Great, connecting the Egyptian and Greco-Roman civilizations.
Spend a full day exploring the city, visiting old and modern sites such as Fort Quitbey, the ruins of Serapeum and the famous Alexandria library.
This evening you take an overnight sleeper train to Aswan, a scenic, laid-back city on the banks of the Nile.

Day 4: Arrive in Aswan
After arriving in Aswan, you visit the Temple of Philae, located on an island in the reservoir of the Aswan Dam.
The afternoon is at leisure to relax and enjoy the hotel's pool. This evening, you can visit a Nubian village for a traditional dinner (optional).

Day 5: Visit Abu Simbel, felucca cruise
Today you visit Abu Simbel - considered the grandest temple constructed during Pharaoh Ramesses II reign.
Late afternoon, you board your private felucca for a relaxing cruise along the Nile, stopping at the Aswan Botanical Garden, as well as Elephantine Island where you can see the tombs of the Aswan nobles and the stunning reflection of the sand dunes over the river.

Day 6: Transfer to Luxor via Kom Ombo & Edfu
Transfer by road to Luxor, stopping at Kom Ombo for a guided tour of its temples, where you can see mummified crocodiles!
You also visit Edfu Temple, the most preserved temple in Egypt. On arrival in Luxor, you can choose to join an optional sound and light show at Karnak Temple, Egypt's largest temple complex.

Day 7: Valley of the Kings & Tutankhamun's Tomb
Today you visit Valley of the Kings where you will find a collection of elaborately decorated tombs and underground mausoleums that the ancient Egyptians built for their pharaohs. Later visit Tutankhamun's Tomb.
This evening, visit the traditional market where you will be able to explore and haggle for souvenirs (optional).

Day 8: Hurghada
Transfer to Hurghada, an excellent base for snorkelling trips with translucent water and rare species of coral and fish.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore, or relax by the pool or beach. Or, why not take a desert safari to visit a Bedouin camp for traditional food and dancing?

Day 9: Red Sea snorkelling tour
Set sail for the deserted island of Giftun set in the tranquil blue waters of the Red Sea. Stop to see the magnificent coral reef here, and swim with an abundance of underwater sealife. Lunch will be served on board the boat with time to relax on the beach and enjoy the Red Sea before returning to Hurghada in the late afternoon.

Day 10: Fly back to the UK
Sadly, it’s the end of your adventure. There will be a single-timed group transfer back to the airport.
