On this group tour to Thailand, modern and ancient discoveries await in the vibrant and colourful Bangkok, and beautiful natural and manmade marvels can be found in the famous River Kwai. Learn about wildlife conservation projects before some relaxation time on the beach in Hua Hin.

Your itinerary begins in Bangkok where you take an insightful tour through the city's waterways, explore the city's thriving street food culture by Tuk Tuk and visit the nearby ancient capital of Ayutthaya. Head out of Bangkok to visit iconic markets and journey to Kanchanaburi and the famous River Kwai. Learn about the poignant history of World War II and the Thai-Burma railway whilst staying on a floating hotel right on the river with some great activities to choose from. Your trip finishes enjoying the warmth of the waters of the Gulf of Thailand.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart UK

    Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Bangkok.

  2. Day 2: Arrive Bangkok

    After arriving in Bangkok in the afternoon, the rest of the day is free to relax or explore on foot from your centrally based hotel.

  3. Day 3: Full Day Ayutthaya Tour

    Spend a full day exploring the ancient capital of Thailand and the sleepy atmosphere away from the city centre.
  4. Day 4: Explore Bangkok by water & tuk tuk

    Take a longtail boat tour around Bangkok's Klongs and see the towering Wat Arun and Glittering Grand Palace this morning. In the evening, jump on one of Bangkok's iconic tuk tuks for a culinary tour of the city's amazing street food culture.

  5. Day 5: Kanchanaburi

    Learn about World War II at the Bridge on the River Kwai, Hellfire Pass and the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre before continuing to your accommodation, a river front jungle lodge in Kanchanaburi.

  6. Day 6: Optional Activities in Kanchanaburi

    Today is free for you to either relax in your floating hotel or choose from a number of optional activities, including canoeing, bamboo rafting and visiting the waterfalls of Erawan National Park. Erawan is home to seven tiers of waterfalls cascading into beautiful sky-blue pools. You could spend time swimming here, or walking in the surrounding forest.

  7. Day 7: Transfer to Hua Hin, afternoon at leisure by the beach

    Today you transfer to Hua Hin, the former holiday destination of the Thai Royal family and now a popular beach resort with golden beaches, historical attractions, vineyards and markets. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the beach.

  8. Day 8: Wildlife Friends of Thailand Foundation

    Today you visit a rescue centre for injured and mistreated wild animals. Here you can meet some of the rescued animals and learn about their stories as well as meet and feed one of the elephants and learn about the conservation work that is carried out by the project.

  9. Day 9: Time at leisure in Hua Hin

    Today is free for you to relax on the beach or choose between optional activities such as exploring the Pala-U waterfall in Kaeng Krachan National Park or visiting the Sam Roi Yod National Park. Alternatively, you could spend an afternoon exploring the palace, mangroves and night markets of Hua Hin.
  10. Day 10: Depart Thailand

    Today you depart Thailand on a flight from Bangkok.

  11. Day 11: Arrive UK

  12. Days 10-13 : OPTIONAL EXTENSION: Koh Samui

    If you want to extend your stay in Thailand we can offer a fantastic extension to Koh Samui. Koh Samui is a short flight from Bangkok and one of Thailand's largest islands. Spend three nights in a lovely beach front resort relaxing on the beach or take part in some enjoyable excursions from speedboat trips to Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan and a full-day four-wheel drive jeep safari.
