The trip starts with a nature walk in the cloud forests of Monteverde, where families can learn about the colourful tropical birds of the rainforests on a canopy walk and see the majestic Arenal Volcano. Then visit Tortuguero National Park, where you will have the chance to see a huge variety of wildlife and take an early morning boat cruise to hear the dawn chorus of the rainforest. End your family adventure with a few days snorkelling the coral reef and relaxing on the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean.
Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to San Jose
Daytime flight from the UK to San Jose, arriving later the same day.

Days 2-3 : Monteverde Cloud Forest
Travel to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve where you’ll find a huge variety of mammals and birds, including the beautiful quetzal. Enjoy a wildlife watching hike. -
Days 4-5 : Arenal Volcano National Park; caves & hanging bridges
Take a scenic boat ride across Arenal Lake, from where you'll then travel by road to La Fortuna, gateway to the Arenal Volcano. Explore Venado subterranean caves, where there are eight impressive galleries decorated with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, crystals and fossils.
Afterwards, enjoy a walk over the hanging bridges, accompanied by a naturalistic guide. Enjoy the multicolour world of the tropical rainforest, together with incredible views from the highest bridges.

Days 6-7 : Tortuguero National Park
Transfer to Tortuguero, only accessible by boat. Your journey takes you through the canals where you can see a variety of flora and fauna, including sloths, monkeys and turtles. The following day you can listen to hundred of bird species singing in the early morning on a boat tour. -
Days 8-10 : Beach Stay at Puerto Viejo de Limon
Spend a few days on the beautiful Caribbean beaches at Puerto Viejo and Cahuita, one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica, with palm trees and pure white sand. -
Day 11: Return to San Jose
After a leisurely start this morning, return to the capital for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Fly back to the UK
Transfer to the airport for your return overnight flight to the UK.
