Experience the great biodiversity of this giant country, from Rio's urban rainforest to the vast wetlands of the Pantanal and the incredible beauty of Bonito, all with myriad colourful wildlife and vegetation. Enjoy the iconic site of the cascading Iguacu falls and try to work out which is noisier; the falls or the Brazilian macaws?!
Your adventure starts by marvelling at the adaptability of the animal kingdom as you search for wildlife in the urban rainforests of Rio de Janeiro and on a boat trio to the islands of Rio. Next, you embark on an immersive safari experience in the Southern Pantanal where the adventures are of your choice to discover piranha, caiman, capybara, ant eaters and possibly even the elusive jaguar. Close to the Pantanal are the beautiful waters and craters of Bonito, where you discover shiny colourful fish in crystal-clear rivers and witness the cacophony of the scarlet macaws returning to roost.
The adventure ends at the spectacular Iguacu Falls and the surrounding Atlantic forest, full of toucans, eagles, butterflies, caiman and many more exotic flora and fauna. Lastly, meet the local Guarani community to learn how they live in harmony with the local environment, especially their knowledge of local medicinal plants.

Day 1: Depart UK
Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Day 2: Arrive Rio de Janeiro & Visit Christ the Redeemer Statue
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to your hotel on Copacabana Beach. This afternoon, take the tram up Corcovado through the forest to see the impressive Christ the Redeemer statue.

Day 3: Boat Trip to Gigoia Island
Enjoy a half-day tour to the nearby Gigoia Island and look for capybara on land and caiman in the mangroves. -
Day 4: Tijuca Forest & Botanical Garden Jeep Tour
Take an open-top jeep tour through the Tijuca Rainforest, Rio’s urban jungle and visit the beautiful botanical gardens and keep an eye out for toucan, iguanas and monkeys.

Day 5: Fly to Campo Grande & Drive to the Southern Pantanal
This morning, fly from Rio de Janeiro to Campo Grande, and transfer to the world’s largest tropical wetland, the Pantanal. If there's time, depart on a nighttime safari to look for the area’s nocturnal residents including jaguars, caiman, tapir and owls.

Days 6-7 : Southern Pantanal Safari
During these two days, enjoy a selection of activities that enable you to explore the plains and wetlands of the Pantanal in search of wildlife. Choose from; nature hikes, photography safaris, piranha fishing, night safaris and more.

Day 8: Kayaking on the Salobra River; Transfer to Bonito
After your wildlife adventures in the Southern Pantanal, drive to the scenic town of Bodoquena, passing rivers, forests and rural communities along the way. Enjoy a day kayaking on the clear waters of the Salobra River surrounded by lush jungle and keep an eye out for the fish swimming underneath you. Afterwards, continue the drive to Bonito, famous for its pristine rivers and ecotourism.

Day 9: Snorkelling on the Rio Parata & Scarlet Macaws of Buraco da Araras
Float down the clear waters of the Rio Parata and watch the colourful freshwater fish under you. After lunch, visit the Buraco da Araras crater and watch the resident scarlet macaws come home to roost.

Day 10: Fly to Iguacu Falls
Fly from Campo Grande to Iguacu Falls and enjoy a relaxing evening in the hotel.

Day 11: Explore the Brazilian Side of the Falls & Visit the Iguacu Bird Park
Explore the walkways of the Brazilian Iguacu Falls for spectacular views of the falls and the chance to see the wildlife of the Atlantic forest. In the afternoon visit the Iguacu Bird Park, home to over 140 bird species rescued from illegal trade and ill-treatment.

Visit the local Guarani community and learn how they live at one with the local natural environment..
