Jordan is an ideal holiday destination for families as it has so much to offer, including ancient cities like Petra and unique natural wonders like the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum. This itinerary combines the cultural wonders with a variety of adventure activities on offer.
Arriving into the capital city, Amman, we ease you in to the trip with a cooking class and some time by the Dead Sea, before the real adventure begins. From the Dead Sea we take a gorge walk along the river of Wadi Bin Hammad, and enjoy a beautiful hike in Dana Biosphere Reserve before spending the night in our first Bedouin camp. The next day we follow an old Nabatean walking trail along the mountainside and down the 850 steps to the magnificent Petra. Next we journey into the iconic Wadi Rum desert to scramble up Jordan's highest mountain, cycle around the desert flats and have the opportunity to go for a jeep, camel or horse safari through the desert. We end our adventure in the coastal city of Aqaba and enjoy a snorkelling excursion to some of the local reefs.
Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Depart UK & Arrive Amman
Upon disembarkation from your flight, we're met and assisted through security and the immigration desks in order to facilitate your visa waiver. -
Day 2: Morning at leisure, optional cooking class & transfer to Dead Sea
This morning is at leisure to recover from our late arrival. We can choose to join a cooking class in Amman. After lunch, transfer to the Dead Sea. -
Day 3: Gorge walk in Wadi Bin Hammad & transfer to Dana Valley Biosphere Reserve
We take an enjoyable and scenic walk starting at the hot springs and hiking through the river surrounded by lush green vegetation and plants hanging down from the sides of the gorge. Transfer to Dana Valley following the gorge walk. -
Day 4: Hike Shaq Al Reesh trail & transfer to Bedouin Camp
Hike the Shaq Al Reesh trail in the Dana Valley Biosphere Reserve, marvel at the unique rock formations, natural wells and walk down the breathtaking siq. After the hike, transfer to a Bedouin Camp in Little Petra. -
Day 5: Hike the back trail from Little Petra to Petra
Follow an old Nabatean walking trail round the mountains and down the steps to discover the wonder of Petra. -
Day 6: Transfer to Wadi Rum & climb up Jabal Um Ad Dami
Enjoy climbing and scrambling on Jordan’s highest mountain, Jabal Um Ad Dami and enjoy a picnic in the desert. In the afternoon, you have the option to go on a jeep safari through the spectacular Wadi Rum. -
Day 7: Cycling on the mud flats of Wadi Rum & transfer to Aqaba
An optional camel ride through the desert is possible this morning, before a cycling excursion on the mud flats of Wadi Rum with a specialist cycling crew.

Day 8: Relax or Enjoy Optional Snorkelling in the Red Sea
Take a boat trip on the Red Sea where you can relax and swim. Alternatively, you may like to choose an optional snorkelling excursion amongst the colourful reefs and marine life.

Day 9: Fly back to the UK

Days 9-12 : OPTIONAL EXTENSION: Aqaba
