A varied and exotic adventure in deepest darkest Borneo with river rafting and turtle on Selingan Island. The highlight is, of course, watching the fabulous orang utans and learning about their protection and rescue. See inside the caves of Gomantong and take a cruise on the Kinabatangan River in search of the peculiar long-nosed Proboscis monkey. End your stay by relaxing on the shores of the South China Sea and enjoying the fabulous sunsets.
- Day 1. Fly to Kota Kinabalu
- Day 2/3. Kota Kinabalu
- Kota Kinabalu; city tour and river rafting.
- Day 4. Kinabalu Park
- Kinabalu Park & Poring Hotsprings.
- Day 5. Drive to Sandakan
- Day 6. Selingan Island
- Boat to Selingan Island; turtle watching.
- Day 7. Sepilok - see Orang Utans
- Return to Sandakan and drive to Sepilok; see Orang Utans. Continue to Kinabatangan River.
- Day 8. Kinabatangan River safari;
- Kinabatangan River safari; drive to Ox Bow Lake & Gomantong (bat caves!)
- Day 9. Sandakan
- Boat to Sandakan; fly to Kota Kinabalu. Transfer to beach resort.
- Day 10/11. At beach
- Day 12/13. Overnight flight to London

- Accommodation is in a mix of hotels and rustic lodges. Although these are comfortable, don't expect Western standards. Included activities are possible for children of almost any age.
