Sri Lanka is an island of enormous variety with its amazing history of early Buddhism, its lush green forests and jungle, cool highlands, ornate temples and wonderful food. But what visitors remember most are the people - amongst the friendliest in Asia.
Our trip will allow for plenty of interaction with the local people, enabling you to learn about their culture, dance, clothes, customs, religion and food.

- Day 1/2. Fly to Colombo
- Fly to Colombo. Drive to Wattala Beach.
- Day 3-5. Dambulla and Polonnaruwa
- Dambulla Temple & Polonnaruwa ancient city. Cycle ride/cooking lesson with villagers.
- Day 6. Sigiriya and Kandy
- Drive to Sigiriya; climb rock and fortress. Visit Spice Garden. Drive to Kandy.
- Day 7. Kandy
- Kandy city tour. See Kandyan dance and meet the dancers!
- Day 8. Train to Nuwara Eliya
- Train through hills to Nuwara Eliya; visit Tea Plantation Factory.
- Day 9/10. Uda Walawe NP.
- Drive via Ella to Uda Walawe NP; jeep safari.
- Day 11. Mirissa
- Drive to Mirissa on south coast.
- Day 12/13. Beach
- Beach; optional whale-watching and visit to Galle by train.
- Day 14/15. Fly to London
- Drive to Colombo. Overnight flight to London.
