Discover the delights and traditions of Gozo, a laid-back Mediterranean island just north of Malta, where you can enjoy both land and sea activities on this family activity holiday.

  • Go climbing & abseiling
  • Explore caves & bays by kayak
  • Learn to scuba dive
  • Swim & snorkel in the Mediterranean
  • Enjoy a traditional cookery class

Explore the underwater world by experiencing a scuba diving taster session, abseil down rocks, explore caves and bays in kayaks, meet the locals and gain an insight into life away from the tourist trail. On your free day, you could explore the local towns of the island, take a coastal walk or join a snorkelling boat excursion in crystal clear waters.

Your accommodation on this fun-filled group holiday is in a family-friendly, beach-front hotel located in the picturesque fishing village of Mgarr.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to Malta & transfer to Gozo

Arrive at Malta’s Luqa Airport and by ferry and minibus to the hotel in Mgarr on the island of Gozo. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the surrounding area or relax.

  2. Day 2: Free day; explore Victoria

There are a range of activities to choose from on your free day: explore the Citadella in Victoria, visit the world’s oldest free-standing building ‘Gigantia’ in the village of Xaghra, swim, snorkel and scuba dive at the beach, or take an optional cruise around Comino and visit the Blue Lagoon.

  3. Day 3: Scuba diving

Pull on your mask and get ready to experience amazingly vivid blues, exceptionally clear visibility and incredible aquatic scenery. With plenty of marine life to discover hiding out in archways, caves and the many wrecks scattered around the island you won’t find better diving anywhere else in the Med.

  4. Day 4: Kayaking around caves & bays

Enjoy a day kayaking on the clear waters along Gozo’s coastline, exploring the many caves and bays. Stops are made for swimming and for a picnic lunch, and points of interest are explained along the way.

  5. Day 5: Free day

Today is free to relax on the beach or explore more of Gozo. Locally available activities include water sports, museums, and boat trips from the island.

  6. Day 6: Local cookery experience

Today is designed to help you understand more about Gozo, its people, its traditions – and something very dear to us – its food!

  7. Day 7: Learn rock-climbing & abseiling

Gozo is a very rocky island and therefore a great place to learn to climb and abseil. Visit the best sites on the island to learn the basics of rope craft and how to safely navigate a rock face, and slowly progress to more difficult routes. The afternoon is at leisure to relax or explore.

  8. Day 8: Transfer to Malta Airport & fly back to the UK

  9. Day 8: OPTIONAL EXTENSION: Malta Island

For those families wanting to extend their holiday, we recommend spending some extra days on the island of Malta in Valletta to witness the firing of the canons, take a trip to Popeye village where the 1980 movie Popeye was filmed and take a trip to the Blue Lagoon on Comino.
