Sable Mountain Lodge

Accessed by plane, car and the TAZARA railway, Sable Mountain sits on the NW boundary of Selous Game Reserve, just half an hour from the nearest station but deep in the wild bush of the area. It offers an other worldly environment in which to relax, and is the ideal gateway into Selous.

What's special about Sable Mountain Lodge?

Spread across three forested hills, Sable Mountain is beautifully blended into the local environment. It offers spectacular views to the Uluguru mountains, and attracts a wonderful array of mammals to its waterhole, including elephants, buffalo, wild dogs, lions and leopards. The lodge is entirely solar run, and has a non-chlorinated swimming pool which feeds the waterhole.

There are five tented twin/double rooms, four stone cottages, and the villa and rooftop which sleeps up to 7 in three separate rooms.

Game drives can be taken as half day or full day options, the latter including a boat safari on one of Selous's lakes. Foot safaris and tree house vigils are available in the bush around the lodge, as well as visits to a Masai village.
