On this centre-based family holiday to the Chania region of Crete, we learn about local food and culture, and relax on long sandy beaches. Take to the sea to enjoy a boat trip, and spend time swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear waters, exploring underwater rock formations, sea caves and even a shipwreck. Get active with gorge walking, sea kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding and enjoy free time for optional activities such as SCUBA diving, mountain biking and hiking or visit an archaeological dig.

Day 1: Fly to Crete
Fly to Crete and stay in the small seaside town of Kissamos.

Day 2: Snorkel to a hidden sea cave
Visit a rocky beach with a stunning natural rock pool, where you can go snorkelling to a nearby sea cave and underwater rock formation.

Day 3: E-bike tour
Take a cycling tour along quiet country roads, passing small villages and stunning scenery as well as spectacular views across the bay. Stop at the unique village of Polyrrinia to see ancient ruins, rock houses and a cave church.

Day 4: Kayaking
Today we head out in our kayaks exploring the west coast of Crete. Paddle along the coastline from beach-to-beach stopping along the way for swimming and snorkelling.

Day 5: Gorge Walk
Explore a stunning local gorge where you’re likely to see griffon vultures flying overhead.

Day 6: Boat Trip
Visit a sea cave and a secluded beach, only accessible by boat, passing by impressive scenery, rugged cliffs and endless blue waters.

Day 7: Stand-up paddle boarding
Test your balance on the paddle-board enjoying the spectacular scenery from a different view-point.

Day 8: Fly back to the UK

Days 8-11 : OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS: Knossos or Chania
Why not stay an extra few days in Crete and visit the most famous archaeological site on the island, Knossos for its association with Greek mythology and the Minotaur? Alternatively, you could explore the old Fort Firkas in Chania which was built to protect the city from pirates and Turkish invaders and then take a splash at one of the island's water parks before heading home.
