Costa Rica is a great destination for families and a good first experience of Latin America. Many of the hotels have family rooms and facilities, and the tourism infrastructure is generally well set up and organised with English being widely spoken. There is certainly plenty to see and do - from exploring nature in the Rainforest to live Volcanoes and relaxing beaches. If the kids get tired of the nature; you can send them zip wiring through the canopy or rafting down the river! You certainly won't get bored here.
