The Caprivi Strip located in northern Namibia is a long 'finger' stretching east along the top of Botswana jutting out almost to Victoria Falls. The Caprivi Strip is an area of fertile floodplains sourced from the tributaries of the Zambezi. The lush green countryside dotted with small villages contrast to the rest of Namibia's arid desert landscape. There are four national parks/game reserves in the region: Mahanugu, Bwabwata, Mudumu and Mamili. The trans-frontier park scheme allows freedom of wildlife movement across; it is as rich in wildlife as the more popular and better known areas of Chobe and the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
