Things to see in Oman: Muscat
Your stay is likely to start and end in the capital Muscat. This is quite a disparate city with sections divided up by dramatic coastal mountains, cliff top forts and an interesting old souk at Muttrah harbour front. The city has a very impressive modern mosque, named after the ruler Sultan Qaboos, plus a selection of good museums. There are excellent beach resorts for families in and around the city. Activities available include dhow cruises, dolphin watching and scuba diving.
