Irrawaddy River
Flowing from north to south, through the heart of Myanmar, the Irrawaddy or Ayeywarwaddy is the country’s largest river and an important waterway in the life of many Burmese.
It is sometimes called The Road to Mandalay based on Rudyard Kipling’s poem. A cruise along the river between Mandalay and Bagan is a relaxing and comfortable way to slowly explore the countryside.
