AfriCat Foundation

The AfriCat Foundation in Okonjima is a great place to visit and learn about the fascinating rehabilitation cheetah and leopard project. It provides families to see these magnificent animals up close and learn about the welfare work.

There may also be the opportunity to track cheetahs on foot and view leopards from game-viewing vehicles. The majority of the animals rescued after a period of rehabilitation have been released back into the wild. The surrounding woodland is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 200 species including rare endemics such as the Monteiro’s hornbill, Hartlaub’s francolin and rockrunner being recorded.
