Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji stands tall at 3,776 metres. It’s an iconic sight to see in Japan and is worshipped as a sacred mountain. The Murayama Sengen Jinja shrine, built 1,000 years ago, sits at the foot of Mount Fuji and was believed to bring good things in life to worshippers at the temple.

Visiting in the spring brings views of stunning cherry blossoms growing around the temple and is a magical sight to behold. If you’re an adventurous family, climbing the famed mountain will take you four to eight hours at walking pace with another two to four hours descent. By climbing late morning you and your family will witness beautiful views of Japan at sunset and, if you stay overnight in a mountain hut, equally impressive views of sunrise
