Your adventure begins in Cape Town where you'll take a cable car up Table Mountain, see the penguins on Boulders Beach and learn about South Africa’s complex history on visits to Robben Island and the South African Museum.

Then spend a few days exploring the Garden Route from a well-located hotel where you can go on a meerkat safari and kayak along Storm River, before ending your tour in Kwazulu-Natal. Here you can enjoy wildlife safaris in Mkuze and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi wildlife reserves.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart UK

    Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Cape Town.

  2. Day 2: Arrive Cape Town

    On arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Robben Island & City Tour

    Today you will be taken on a guided tour of Cape Town, Robben Island and Table Mountain.

  4. Day 4: Cape Point & Peninsula tour

    You will be taken on a full day’s tour of the Cape Peninsula, home to magnificent beaches, breathtaking views and picturesque villages. Visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, see the Boulders Beach penguin colony and wander around Kirstenbosh Botanical Gardens.

    This evening there is a visit to a unique African Restaurant for traditional food and entertainment.

  5. Day 5: Fly to George

    Fly to George and transfer to your lodge. The rest of the day is free to relax or enjoy optional activities at the lodge or in the local area. 

  6. Day 6: Meerkat Safari & lagoon cruise

    An early start to see the meerkats emerging from their burrows at sunrise. Later, take a lunch cruise on the Knysna Lagoon where you can enjoy spectacular mountain scenery against the Indian Ocean. After your tour, you will transfer to your family friendly hotel on the Garden Route for the next three nights. 

  7. Day 7: Whale & dolphin watching

    Take a whale and dolphin watching cruise from Plettenberg Bay, where it’s possible to see a variety of birds, as well as bottlenose dolphins, humpback whales and sharks. The trip also visits the Robberg seal colony.

  8. Day 8: Kayaking & canopy tour

    Transfer to Tsitsikamma for an active morning of kayaking in Storms River, before zip-lining through the trees of the indigenous forest this afternoon.

  9. Day 9: Transfer to Mkuze

    Fly to Durban this morning and then transfer to your hotel in Mkuze.

  10. Days 10-12 : Wildlife safaris in Mkuze and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi

    Choose from a variety of options over the next few days: boat cruises, game drives (including night drives) and walking safaris in Mkuze and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi wildlife reserves, as well as cultural tours and hiking.

    For younger children, nature walks, crafts, treasure hunts, pizza making, canoeing and face painting are available.

  11. Day 13: Transfer to Durban Airport & depart

    Transfer to Durban Airport in time for your return overnight flight to the UK.

  12. Day 14: Arrive UK
