Begin your trip in a resort overlooking the rolling hills of San Ignacio. From here you will hike through jungle and explore ancient Mayan ruins and caves.
Next, take a boat out to a coral atoll which will be your base for the rest of the trip. From here you can kayak, swim and snorkel in the tropical waters of the Belize Barrier Reef. Explore a marine adventure playground of warm, turquoise, shallow waters teeming with colourful fish, and learn about this enchanting underwater world as you practice your sea-kayaking, kayak-sailing and stand-up paddleboarding skills.
A choice of activities ensures there’s something for all the family on this active trip, and there are options to extend your stay in Belize if you wish.
Day1: Depart UK
Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Belize; most flights require an overnight stop in the USA.
Day2: Arrive Belize, transfer to San Ignacio
Transfer by road to your resort overlooking the rolling hills around San Ignacio
Day3: Mayan ruins & caves
Visit the ancient Mayan ruins of Xunantunich. Walk deep into the rainforest to explore the underground archaeological site of Actun Chechem Ha cave system.
Day4: Boat to Glover's Reef
You'll be transferred along the scenic Hummingbird Highway through the rainforest to the coastal town of Dangriga. From here it's a short boat ride to your remote camp on a coral atoll located in Glover's Reef Marine Reserve.
Days5-8: Optional activities at the camp
Receive instruction in kayaking, snorkelling and stand-up paddleboarding. All abilities are catered for; you can be as active or as relaxed as you like, and the itinerary is flexible in order to accommodate the group's preferences. Each morning you will be briefed with a choice of activities for the day including paddling, snorkelling and learning to sail a kayak. Or, you can simply relax by the beach.
Day9: Boat to Dangriga & fly back to the UK
Take a boat back to Dangriga for a short flight back to the airport to connect with your overnight international flights back to the UK.

Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary: Spend two nights at Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary. Tour the ancient city of Lamanai, go on a boat ride along the New River Lagoon for tremendous birding and wildlife watching and visit the Mayan site of Altun Ha. Rainforest Canopy Extension: From Dangriga, transfer to the eco-resort of Bocawina Park. Choose from guided rainforest trails, zip-lining, abseiling or visit a wildlife sanctuary.

2 nights resort, 5 nights tented camp
The first two nights of the trip are spent in a 3* property with a swimming pool, just outside of the small town of San Ignacio. You will then transfer to a safari-style camp on a remote coral atoll on the Belize Barrier Reef. Accommodation is in 2 person wall-tent cabanas with wooden floors, and proper beds. All tents have an ocean view. The camp is powered by solar generated electricity with freshwater showers and modern compost toilets. Bathrooms are shared.
