Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to Cairo

On arrival in Cairo, your guide will assist you with your transfer to your hotel.

A city of contrasts, Cairo is home to ancient monuments alongside a modern city-scape; expect a lively, chaotic atmosphere as you arrive in the largest city of the Arab World.

Time permitting, this evening there is an optional visit to the sound and light show at the Pyramids, taking you back thousands of years to learn about the legends and secrets of the ancient world.

  2. Day 2: Pyramids & the Egyptian Museum

Start your day with a visit to the three Pyramids. Marvel at the magnificent Sphinx carved out of a single piece of stone, watching over the Giza plateau.

This afternoon, visit the world-famous Egyptian Museum covering 5,000 years of ancient civilization including Tutankhamen’s treasures.

  3. Day 3: Day trip to Alexandria

Today, travel north to the city of Alexandria on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. The city is believed to have been founded by and named after Alexander the Great, connecting the Egyptian and Greco Roman civilizations.

Spend a full day exploring the city, visiting old and modern sites such as Fort Quitbey, the ruins of Serapeum and the famous Alexandria library.

  4. Day 4: Fly to Luxor

Take an early morning flight to Luxor and transfer to the Valley of the Kings where you will find a collection of elaborately decorated tombs and underground mausoleums that the ancient Egyptians built for their pharaohs.

This evening, visit the traditional market where you will be able to explore and haggle for souvenirs (optional).

  5. Day 5: Felucca cruise

This morning, transfer to Aswan, a scenic laid-back city on the banks of the Nile. Visit the Temple of Philae, located on an island in the reservoir of the Aswan Dam.

Late afternoon, you will board your private felucca for a relaxing cruise along the river, stopping at the Aswan Botanical garden, as well as Elephantine Island where you will see the tombs of the Aswan nobles and stunning reflections of the sand dunes over the Nile.

This evening, visit a Nubian village for a traditional dinner.

  6. Day 6: Marsa Alam

Transfer to Marsa Alam, famous for its translucent water and rare species of coral and fish. The rest of the day is at leisure for some much-deserved relaxation at the beach or pool.

  7. Day 7: Red Sea snorkelling tour

An early morning transfer takes you to the marina to board your boat and set sail. Visit a protected lagoon, popular with swimmers and snorkellers, where spinner dolphins are often spotted as well as other sea mammals that consider the area their home.

Lunch is prepared by an on-board chef and later on you’ll get the chance to discover many species of fish and coral only found in the Red Sea.

  8. Day 8: Desert jeep tour

Morning at leisure. This afternoon, you’ll be taken by a 4x4 jeep into the heart of the desert, stopping along the way for panoramic views and to learn about the desert history before arriving at a Bedouin village for a tour and stories about Bedouin life and traditions.

Try some Bedouin tea followed by a barbeque dinner with traditional entertainment and enjoy some star gazing, as well as the chance to see the desert stars through a powerful telescope before returning to your hotel in Marsa Alam.

  9. Day 9: Fly back to the UK

Sadly, it’s the end of your adventure. After breakfast at the hotel, there will be a single-timed group transfer back to the airport.
