This land-based suggested itinerary visits three of the Galapagos Islands, exploring by kayak, bike and on foot. Your children will love learning about the unique animals and marine life that inspired Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart UK

    Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Guayaquil.

  2. Day 2: Arrive Guayaquil

    On arrival in Guayaquil, transfer to your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Floreana Island

    Fly to the Galapagos Islands, followed by a two-hour speedboat journey to the island of Floreana.

    The folowing day, go hiking in the Floreana highlands, where you can see pirate caves and giant tortoises along the trail. Afternoon barbeque and marine exploration on the Floreana shoreline.

  4. Day 5: Giant tortoise breeding centre; snorkelling

    Early this morning transfer by speed boat to Isabela Island and visit the giant tortoise breeding centre, an important conservation centre in the Galapagos.

    Afternoon visit to Tintoreras, where you can go snorkellling and wildlife watching in the bay. This small group of islands is home to almost all of the the archipelago’s iconic wildlife: white-tipped sharks, sealions, turtles, rays, penguins, penguins and blue footed boobies.

  5. Day 6: Hiking & beach

    Hike up to the craters of Sierra Negra and Chico volanoes. Look for hawks, finches, flycatchers and short-eared ownls. Later, relax on the beaches of Puerto Villamil.

  6. Day 7: Isabela Island

    Paddle to Island Bay. Afternoon cycling along the wetlands trail. Visit the wall of tears and visit a local swimming hole.

  7. Day 8: Mountain biking & kayaking

    Downhill mountain biking, passing small farms on the way to the beach, where you can paddle on sea kayaks, looking for sharks, rays, turtles and sea birds. Follow a boardwalk trail to Tortuga Bay.

  8. Day 9: Santa Cruz Island

    Free day to relax on Santa Cruz island. Hiking, cycling, snorkelling and wildlife watching can all be arranged locally.

  9. Day 10: Los Gemelos Caters & fly to Quito

    Visit the impressive twin craters of Los Gemelos twin craters, then fly to Quito.

  10. Day 11: Full day excursion to Bellavista

    Climb up to the mountain for fabulous views or hike through the forest and reserve trails. Next visit Mindo Cloud Forest Reserve and a butterfly farm.

  11. Day 12: Fly back to the UK

    Transfer to the airport for your return overnight flight to the UK. 

  12. Day 13: Arrive UK
