On this week long adventure, your family can cycle around the shores of the glassy Hallstattersee lake and explore the area further by canoe. Young adventurers can climb a mountain and have a go on a climbing wall, then explore an underground limestone cave network.
An enchanting village is your base for the week as you explore the surrounding mountains, lakes and villages through a network of designated walking and cycling trails.
Day1: Fly to Salzburg, transfer to Bad Goisern
Fly to Salzburg and transfer to your accommodation in Bad Goisern.
Day2: Cycling at Lake Hallstattersee
Cycle around the shores of Lake Hallstattersee, which is surrounded by high mountains and picturesque alpine houses. Visit the village of Obertraun and UNESCO World Heritage Site Hallstatt, before continuing the full circular route around the lake back to Bad Goisern.
Day3: Canoeing on Lake Hallstattersee
Head out onto the calm lake by canoe and explore the most beautiful parts of the lake and its shores.
Day4: Hiking at Mount Kalmberg
The ascent up Mount Kalmberg is short, but steep - but well worth the effort! From here, you can explore the summit or visit the Kalmoos church. Stay overnight in a mountain hut.
Day5: Descend to Bad Goisern
After a good breakfast, descend back down the mountain to the village, and the rest of the day is free to explore or perhaps try your hand at archery (extra cost).
Day6: Climbing walls
Test your climbing and bouldering skills on indoor and outdoor climbing walls with a variety of routes to suit all abilities.
Day7: Cave trekking
Return to Obertraun to visit the Koppenbruller Holle cave. Explore the extensive, underground limestone cave systems, through narrow passages and total darkness.
Transfer back to Salzburg Airport for your flight home.

We spent six nights in a 3* hotel in Bad Goisern, which is equipped with an indoor swimming pool, sauna and free bike hire. Rooms are on a twin/double share basis and an extra bed can be added to convert to a triple room.
One night will be spent in a mountain hut, where accommodation is in dormitory rooms; you will share the room with other members of the group. The hut has a communal wash room (no shower); blankets and pillows are provided, however you should bring your own sleeping bag or liner (or purchase one locally).
