From colonial Quito's grace and charm, to the bustle of the market in Otavalo with its distinctive Indians in their traditional dress and the lofty peaks of the Andean volcanoes, Ecuador has much to offer. You'll visit Cotopaxi Volcano, walk in a cloud forest, take a train over the Devil's Nose and get a feeling for the Inca civilization.
Known for their 'artesania' the local people produce a wealth of handicrafts, in particular of course the Panama hat. To round off your trip, why not consider taking the short trip to the jungles of the Amazon or combine with a week in the Galapagos islands.
- Day 1. Fly to Quito
- Daytime flight to Quito; drive to hotel.
- Day 2. Quito
- Tour of Quito; visit the Equator Line.
- Day 3. Cochasqui & volcanic crater
- Drive to Cochasqui pre-Inca ruins; boat ride inside ancient volcanic crater.
- Day 4. Cotopaxi NP
- Cotopaxi National Park; hike in the cloud forest; drive to Machachi.
- Day 5. Cotopaxi Volcano
- Cotopaxi Volcano; short walk. Continue to Riobamba. See Mt.Chimborazo.
- Day 6. Ingapirca Remains
- Take the train to the Devil's Nose and then drive to Cuenca; visit Ingapirca, largest Inca remains in Ecuador.
- Day 7. Las Cajas National Park
- Visit to Las Cajas National Park and explore Cuenca. Fly to Quito.
- Day 8. Free day in Quito
- Free day in Quito. Transfer to airport for overnight flight to London.
- Day 9. Arrive London
- Is it right for your family?
- Suitable for children from five and up. Although you'll reach quite a high altitude at Cotopaxi volcano, this trip really does keep travel to a minimum and interest to a maximum. You will stay in hotels and a hacienda, and travel is mostly by minibus.

- Travel down from the Altiplano for a stay in the Amazon Rainforest for 4 nights. Add Additional £429 per person.
