This is an exciting tour of Sri Lanka's main sites with the added dimension of being able to assist in schools and villages - a real insight into the lives of the local people. A rewarding experience for those you help; and also for you and your children - a chance to make new friends too. No specific skills are required, but if you have a particular skill we can tailor the project to take advantage of that. You also have the chance to help in the Elephant Transit home, who could resist spending time up close with these wonderful animals? At the end of the trip you can combine relaxation at the beach with more volunteering locally.
- Day 1/2. Fly to Colombo
- Fly to Colombo. Arrive and drive to Negombo beach.
- Day 3. Dambula
- Drive to Dambula; visit caves and temple.
- Day 4. Volunteer in a local school
- Day 5. Kandy
- Visit a spice garden and drive to Kandy. Temple of the Tooth and cultural show.
- Day 6. Nuwara Eliya
- Take a local train and arrive at Nuwara Eliya - Tea Country,
- Day 7. Visit tea plantation
- Day 8. Udawalwe
- Travel to Udawalwe; visit Ella Waterfall.
- Day 9. Volunteer in elephant transit home
- Day 10. Volunteer in a local school.
- Day 11. Ahangama
- Transfer to the beach - Ahangama.
- Day 12/13. Volunteer work
- Volunteering in a local community and enjoying the beach location.
- Day 14. Fly London
- Travel to Colombo and fly to London.
