After arriving at Dar es Salaam, head to Saadani National Park to explore the bush, nestled beside white sand beaches. Then, venture deep into the incredible Selous Game Reserve, the largest in Africa and full of wildlife.
Learn about their elephant collaring project and other conservation work, enjoy a relaxing canoe ride, and search for lions, zebras and wild dogs as well as a walking safari to look for animal tracks and smaller wildlife.
Finally, a short flight takes you to the beautiful spice island of Zanzibar, where you can explore the winding streets of Stone Town. You may extend the trip with a few extra days on Zanzibar and enjoy its quiet beaches with beautiful views of the Indian Ocean.

Day 1: Depart UK
Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Dar es Salaam.

Day 2: Arrive Dar es Salaam
Arrive in Dar es Salaam and transfer to nearby hotel.

Day 3: Transfer to Saadani National Park
Saadani National Park's unique location provides the opportunity for birdlife and wildlife viewing, alongside fabulous white-sand beaches. There is a variety of activities on offer, such as learning bush skills, tracking wildlife or making a fire with a park ranger. In the afternoon, learn how to set a camera trap.

Day 4: Boat safari
Take a boat safari down the Wami River to look for hippos and crocodiles, then game drive back, returning to camp at dusk. Tonight you will have dinner on the salt flats under the stars.

Day 5: Walking safari
Head out on a walking safari on the salt flats and look for animal prints and smaller flora and fauna. Later, collect your camera traps and check for any pictures and videos.

Day 6: Village visit & conservation project
Visit a nearby village as well as a local home and have the chance to meet some of the fishermen who live and work in the village. This afternoon visit the wildlife research centre to learn about the elephant and lion collaring and some of the camp's conservation work.

Day 7: Head to Selous
Transfer by road to your lodge in Selous where you'll stay in stone cabins with amazing views and a natural spring water pool. In the evening, climb into a tree house overlooking the watering hole to see elephant, buffalo and zebra come to drink.

Day 8: Walking safari and afternoon at leisure
This morning, you encounter the bush around your accommodation in Selous through quiet observations and tracking with an expert guide, followed by an afternoon at leisure, or you can choose to head out for an afternoon game drive.

Day 9: Wildlife viewing & boat trip
Set off on a full day's game drive, including a boat trip on Lake Tagalala, looking out for hippo, crocodiles and colourful birdlife.

Day 10: Fly to Zanzibar; free time to explore
Take a short flight to Zanzibar and transfer to your hotel in Stone Town. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore your surroundings.

Day 11: Morning free & depart Zanzibar
The day is at leisure until a late afternoon transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your international flights home.
