Oman contains amazing variety and interest but has somehow been overlooked by mainstream tourism. You'll travel by 4WD to explore dramatic canyons and the huge dunes of the Wahiba Sands. Discover the variety of local culture - visit a traditional fishing village where dhows are still made by hand and have dinner in a Bedouin camp in the desert.
There'll be time to relax on white sandy beaches, enjoy a boat trip in search of dolphins and snorkel in warm tropical waters.
- Day 1. Fly to Muscat
- Day 2. Muscat
- In Muscat; Visit Grand Mosque. Walks and 4WD trip in 'Grand Canyon'.
- Day 3/4. Wadi Shab & Selma Plateau
- Drive to Wadi Shab. Continue to White Beach camp; swim. Explore Selma Plateau by 4WD and on foot.
- Day 5. Sur fishing village
- Drive to Sur fishing village; visit working dhow yard. Turtle watching (Jun-Nov).
- Day 6. Wahiba Sands
- By 4WD into Wahiba Sands - explore dunes and camp in desert. Dinner in Bedouin camp.
- Day 7. Nizwa
- Drive to Nizwa; explore bazaar and fort. Continue to Muscat.
- Day 8. Muscat
- Dolphin watching and snorkelling. Visit ostrich farm. Optional camel riding.
- Day 9/10 Muscat
- Day at leisure in Muscat. Then overnight flight to London.
