This trip is for families who want to get totally off the tourist trail. After exploring the bazaars of Marrakech, you'll drive to the beautiful Cascades D'Ouzoud, a spectacular waterfall en route to the Eastern Atlas.

Then, where the road ends, you'll enter an area seen by few outsiders - the extraordinary Bougmez Valley. Travelling on foot and riding mules, you'll see stunning mountains and explore tiny villages. Enjoy mint tea with a local family and meet semi nomads to learn about traditional life.

Day 3. D'Ouzoud waterfall & Bougmez Valley
Drive to Cascades D'Ouzoud waterfall; then to Bougmez Valley
Day 4/5. Walking in Bougmez Valley
Walking in Bougmez Valley; have mint tea with local family, walks. Meet semi-nomads and learn about their life.
Day 6. Agouti village
Walk to Agouti village.
Day 7. Marrakech
Drive to Marrakech; free for shopping & souvenir hunting.
Day 8. Fly to London
Is it right for your family?
This is a walking trip for adventurous families. Although the walking is not particularly hard (mules are available for children to ride), accommodation in the Bougmez area is in very simple, traditional Berber houses with few facilities, sleeping bags required. The rewards however, more than compensate for the simple conditions. In Marrakech we use a mid-range hotel.

If you have time, we highly recommend extending your stay to visit the atmospheric old port of Essaouira. The faded grandeur of its colonial past, countless craft shops and winding alleyways make it a must for travellers. Add additional: £199
