Why would I travel with a group of families?
"I asked myself that question several times before going on my first group trip; and then I was hooked" writes Mark Wright, Founder of Families Worldwide. "I found out within the first hour of arriving on our first family adventure that it's much, much better for the kids - they make friends with other children within minutes of arriving. Which means you can relax, get to know other parents and experience the country in the knowledge that your own children are happy and entertained".
There are plenty of other benefits too - like the price for example. When the costs of transport, good guides and leaders can be shared, it brings the overall price of the holiday down. This usually means that more is included in the holiday - like sightseeing, entrance fees, transfers, meals and so on. But for most parents, knowing that your own offspring will make friends quickly, whatever age the other children are, gives you peace of mind, helps you unwind and leaves you free to enjoy the country you're visiting.
Take Nepal as an example. Travelling with a small group of like-minded families, you'll discover the wonders of Kathmandu, with its lively bazaars and famous Monkey Temple. Then head into the great Himalayan range to walk at an easy pace (the kids can be carried in panniers if you prefer!) to see some of the world's best mountain scenery. You'll meet a Sherpa (specially chosen to meet our group), try white-water rafting, explore a jungle by elephant (all pre-organised by Families Worldwide) and see crocodiles, rhinos and maybe even a tiger! Enjoy all of this and more on our Himalayan Adventure trip!
