'The word safari conjures images of vast savannahs, roaming animals and an out of Africa-esque glamour that has drawn visitors to experience the true sense of wildness for generations. Africa has always exerted an incredible pull for me, mostly fuelled by an intense desire as a child to see elephants, giraffes and in particular cheetahs in the wild.

Whilst it is of course the animals which are very much the primary draw for African adventurers, the landscapes, friendly people, ancient culture, beautiful beaches and delicious foods are certainly not to be overlooked! A favourite African food of mine being the traditional South African braai which is essentially cooking all manner of meats, treats and vegetables on a grill over an open fire and under the endless African sky.'

Namibia – great for a varied family adventure

The beautiful wilderness of Namibia is a place of contrasts; from exploring the remote Skeleton Coast, to scaling the vast red dunes of Sossusvlei and enjoying the wildlife of Etosha National Park. South African safari

The enormous and diverse country of South Africa must surely be on the bucket list of any family in search of a safari holiday. From the renowned Kruger to the lesser visited Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, South Africa’s parks are stunning landscapes of savannah and bush absolutely bursting with some of the most iconic and otherwise elusive species such as wild dogs and black rhino.
