Families Worldwide brings Tanzania to Alresford

This year the Alresford Music Festival was bigger and better than ever, with a new Family Arena full of free entertainment for children of all ages, sponsored by Families Worldwide.

We parked up and then built an authentic Tanzanian Bush Rover, complete with luxury tent filled with double bed, beautiful furnishings and spiral staircase to give festival-goers a taste of life on safari in the Serengeti.

Setting up the Bush Rover

Work started on Thursday to begin the setup, carefully unpacking every section of the carefully engineered structure that fixes securely to the Bush Rover.

The Bush Rover was ready and awaiting guests from early Saturday morning. Revellers flooded in through the gate and many headed straight to the Bush Rover to find out more about this unique style of mobile safari accommodation.

The Alresford Music Festival

Just as in the Serengeti, where the Bush Rover has the best views of the great Serengeti migration, guests had a fantastic time overseeing the whole festival from the balcony. Highlights included the African Music Workshop which transported everyone to the vibrant continent and guests enjoyed relaxing in the leather chairs as the sun went down.

Inside, visitors watched stunning drone footage of the Bush Rover in Saadani, located right on a sublime white-sand beach or in the Serengeti itself. The back of the Bush Rover becomes a stately, wood-panelled bathroom each night, a novelty that doesn’t wear off.

Our family adventure experts gave out plenty of advice throughout the day to families looking for inspiration for their next overseas trip. Many were interested to hear more about our most popular Tanzanian safaris, Swahili Coast & Safari and the Serengeti Family Safari. We also kept children entertained with puzzles and colouring in packs and measuring how tall they were compared with a life size baby giraffe.

The Alresford Music Festival is a not-for-profit organisation and money raised is given to local community charities and other good causes. 2016 saw more music and activities than ever before, including the brand new Families Worldwide sponsored Family Arena.
